Matt Jacobsen

Bio

Matt Jacobsen is entering his third season at Gardner Edgerton High School as the Freshman Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. He joined the program after serving as a varsity assistant at Shawnee Mission North, where he worked closely with quarterbacks and running backs.

Coach Jacobsen brings 15 years of coaching experience across multiple programs. His previous stops include Shawnee Mission Northwest (varsity running backs coach), Shawnee Mission East (varsity football, girls basketball, and track sprints), and Bonner Springs (varsity football). In addition to his football responsibilities, he currently serves as the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Gardner Edgerton.

A Shawnee, Kansas native, Jacobsen graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School before continuing his athletic career at Butler County Community College. During his time there, he was part of a national championship team in 2003. He went on to finish his collegiate career at the University of Central Missouri, where he played wide receiver from 2005 to 2006.
Matt and his wife, Jennifer, have two children, Juniper (8) and Maverick (7).
